“ALL-NATURAL” ISN’T RISK-FREE
Recently, ”The milk tea in the bamboo tube became moldy” has been hotly discussed on Weibo. A netizen discovered that a milk tea shop in Hangzhou scenic area was cleaning the bamboo tubes for milk tea. The netizen said that “the bamboo tubes packed in the box are moldy, and the water is very dirty.”
As a result, supervision bureaus in various cities began to get involved in the investigation. The Xiamen Food Security Special Service Team investigated many milk tea shops and found that most of the bamboo tubes were not vacuum-packed and lacked disinfection and cleaning. The detection value of the total plate count in the bamboo tube seriously exceeds the standard, and some detection values are even 50 times higher than the standard value!

Bamboo tubes that look “fresh” and “all-natural” are actually breeding grounds for bacteria, mold and mildew if they are not properly handled and preserved.
“Occasional misuse of moldy bamboo tubes generally does not cause immediate physical discomfort. In a few cases, it may cause vomiting or diarrhea. But long-term use can cause substantial damage to organs such as the liver.” Aiping Liu, director of the Food Quality and Safety Department of the School of Food Science and Technology, Sichuan Agricultural University reminded consumers.
“All-natural” is not risk-free, just like “wild reishi is not necessarily good”.
The words “all-natural” can always give consumers a good imagination, but consumers don’t know that “all-natural” also means that it may be polluted at any time.
