In the selection of Ganoderma Lucidum spore powder products, should we pick the "cell-wall broken " or "cell-wall unbroken?" This problem, which often turns into a war of words, has already been answered scientifically. As for the statement that "broken spore powder damages the gastrointestinal tract", there is no factual basis.
When Ganoderma lucidum fruiting body matures, many brown fine powders are ejected under the cap. These powders are called Ganoderma spores. For Ganoderma lucidum, it is possible to grow a next Ganoderma with spores. For biologists, spores are the basis for determining whether a "mushroom" is a "Ganoderma". For many health-conscious people, Ganoderma lucidum spores are a good choice for health care. Scientific research shows that Ganoderma lucidum spores have multiple functions such as improving immunity, anti-oxidation and anti-tumor, mainly from the two active ingredients in the spores - Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide and Lingzhi triterpene. However, Ganoderma lucidum spores have a double-layered cell wall that is extremely hard and can not be broken by ordinary methods. Therefore, "whether the cell-wall breaking is conducive to the release of polysaccharides and triterpenes, and whether the cell-wall broken spores are more easily absorbed by the human body?" has become the focus of discussion.
A study published in the journal Edible Fungus on the difference between active components in the digestive environment of humans before and after the break of Ganoderma spores cell-wall has scientifically explored this issue.
It was found that in the digestive environment, the polysaccharide released by the cell-wall broken spore powder was 1.6 times that of the cell-wall unbroken spore powder, and the triterpene released by the broken spore powder was more than four times that of the cell-wall unbroken spore powder. After the spores of Reishi Mushroom are cell-wall broken, their active ingredients are more easily released in the digestive environment of the human body. Under scientific verification, it is beyond doubt. In contrast, there is no scientific basis for the statement that the cell-wall broken spores injure gastrointestinal tract.
