HOW TO IMPROVE SLEEP?

YE LI

The night is when the various organs repair themselves, and the lungs are detoxified at 3 to 5 in the middle of the night. If you always wake up during this time, it is likely that the lung function has abnormalities, and the lungs have insufficient Qi and blood, which, in turn, will cause a lack of blood supply throughout the body. When the brain receives this information, it will wake you up early. This is to remind you that you need to maintain the lungs. Don’t overlook it.

The heart and lungs are integrated. If the lung function is weak, the blood of the heart will not be sufficiently supplied. For example, we see many elderly people who died of myocardial infarction in the middle of the night, mostly during this time.

In addition, the fragile brain nerves are also easy to wake you up at 3-4 in the middle of the night and you will feel difficult to fall asleep again. In today’s society, people are under a lot of stress in life, and they usually don’t pay much attention to alternate work with rest. They always put themselves in a stressful environment for a long time. In addition, they are prone to suffer from brain neurasthenia, which will affect their sleep quality.

So what can we do to improve this situation?

1 Exercise

The following two sets of movements to be conducted every day can help enhance cardiorespiratory function.

Pendular movement
Use your hands to support the back of the chair, stand on one foot, then swing the other leg like a pendulum. Do 100 to 300 times on each side without bending the knee. This action can improve qi and blood stasis, promote blood circulation throughout the body, improve cardiopulmonary function and accelerate the metabolism of toxins in the body.

Rub a chopstick with hands
Take a chopstick from the kitchen, put it in your hand, rub it back and forth with both hands until your hands get hot. There are many acupuncture points on our palms, and often rubbing your palms with a chopstick can stimulate Laogong acupoint and Yuji acupoint, which is equivalent to massage and adjustment of various organs. Rubbing your palms with a chopstick can dredge the channel, downbear heart fire, enhance the heart and lung function, improve immunity and prevent respiratory diseases.

2 Ganoderma lucidum helps protect the lungs and calm the nerves.
According to “Compendium of Materia Medica”, Ganoderma lucidum is bitter, mild-natured and non-toxic, supplement heart qi, enters the heart channel, supplements the blood, nourishes heart and vessels, soothes the nerves, supplement lung qi, supplement center qi, boost the intelligence, improves complexion, protects the joints, strengthens sinew and bone, eliminates phlegm, supplement bones and promotes blood circulation.

Ganoderma lucidum is a legal traditional Chinese medicinal material included in the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China. Its main function is “replenishing qi, calming the nerves and relieving cough and asthma. It is used for disquieted heart spirit, insomnia, palpitations, lung deficiency, coughing and asthma, deficiency-taxation, shortness of breath, and loss of appetite. Modern research also proves that Ganoderma lucidum has an immunoregulatory effect and anti-oxidation effect, helps scavenge free radicals, can protect heart, lung, live and kidney injury caused by oxidative stress. It is used to prevent and cure various diseases and cultivate health. At the same time, calming and peaceful sleep is one of the main effects of Ganoderma lucidum. Reishi Mushroom has a very good effect on the treatment of insomnia caused by cerebral neurasthenia.

Ganoderma lucidum is not a sedative-hypnotic, but it restores the neuro-endocrine-immune system regulation disorder caused by long-term insomnia in neurasthenic patients, blocks the resulting vicious cycle, improves sleep, invigorates the spirit, enhances memory, strengthens physical strength and improves other combined symptoms to varying degrees.
